Jackie Craissati and Kerry Beckley tackle the thorny subject of personality (disorder) and psychopathy in the 15th webinar of their Forensic Conversations series. As always, expect a lively and wide-ranging conversation with plenty of practical tips.  The essential question is how to take the best of research, theory and formulation, drop the stigmatising and narrow diagnostic labels, and find ways forward that address risk concerns with compassion. To be more specific, the duo will be tackling questions of diagnosis and definition, from ICD-11 to the three Ps, and beyond. Is a trauma-based approach too narrow? Can descriptors help us to communicate the ‘core feel’ of the personality difficulty in a way that is helpful? How might greater precision in understanding the function of behaviours help us make risk-based decisions? Do join the conversation.
