This 75 minute webinar from Forensic Conversations has a focus on severe mental illness - psychosis - and violence. Kerry Beckley and Jackie Craissati engage in another discursive conversation, bringing their 50+ years of experience to the debate. Topics will include the evidence for a link between psychosis and violence and proposing a 4-factor model for thinking about the functional nature of any link. We will reflect on the utility of schema therapy and trauma informed approaches in thinking psychologically about individuals with psychosis and violent convictions, before concluding with some tips on integrating mental health and criminal justice approaches into risk management.
