Transgender individuals with serious violent or sexual convictions: tips for assessment, formulation and sentence planning.
Forensic Conversations are delighted to announce their 4th webinar - Transgender individuals with serious violent or sexual convictions: tips for assessment, formulation and sentence planning.
Jackie Craissati and Kerry Beckley will be joined by Sally Lopresti for our conversation. This webinar is aimed at practitioners who work with offenders and who are looking to improve their confidence and skills in thinking about the ways in which we need to incorporate transgender themes into our work. We will focus on transwomen in this webinar, as the group of trans individuals who most commonly come to our attention within the criminal justice system; and we intend to provide practical tips that can enhance our assessment approach, and suggest the ways in which transgender dilemmas may - or may not - have influenced pathways to offending. Practitioners often feel uncertain about risk and sentencing planning with transgender individuals and although the empirical evidence is very sparse on these issues, we will attempt to offer helpful commentary and advice.
The webinar will be held on Thursday October 8th, 16.00-17.15
