Our ethos: why choose Psychological Approaches?

Serious incidents have a devastating impact on victims, service users, friends and family; staff also struggle to process such incidents and are often intensely distressed, as a result.  In order for staff, teams, and organisations to have the capacity to truly learn from incident investigations, it is our responsibility to strive to contain their negative emotional states during the investigatory process. Families need time and attention from the investigators; it is crucial to listen carefully and to be responsive to their concerns.  Our ethos is one of collaborative solution-seeking, aiming to achieve the right balance of rigour and compassion.

What you will see in our reports:
  • - Concise and focused analyses, with a focus on quality that is pragmatic  and realistic.
- An emphasis on patterns, themes and systems.
  1. - Recommendations that are co-produced with Trusts, and that focus on  achieving the maximum impact and reach, using limited resources.
